Hats & Bike Wash

The first day of May brought with it warm spring weather. It was Nicholas P.'s day to bring snack and a story.

The book he brought in for me to read was one of my favorites. Several kinders said that this book is a favorite in their family, too. If you've never read it, get a copy for your book collection. It's a good one.

This is a sentimental tale.....

In math we've been exploring the attribute blocks. Today's block train had several "rules" that made up its pattern. Most of the kinders understood the pattern and could extend it.

This is an extension of yesterday's "thin/thick" pattern, adding shape, size, and color.
Mr. Shaible led the hat parade, a Dunham tradition on the first day of May going back quite a few years. We are the first stop on the day's parade.

By the end of the day, though, most kids seemed to feel that the bike washing station Mrs. Zell was running was the best part of the day. Within a half hour most of the bikes were sparkly clean,

Kinders love "work" like this.
Her center was in such demand that she put up a sign up/wait list.

The wait list

Happy days.

Be well.
