Dunham's kindergarten opened the show at the Ukulele Festival in Sebastopol last night. The event was very well attended. When we got up on the stage we were looking over a crowd that I would estimate to be between 200 and 300 people. We sang a couple of songs, "They All Asked for You," and "I Am a Pizza." With the ukuleles we performed "Row, Row, Row, Your Boat" and "Down by the Station." Before we finished we sang "Happy Birthday" for Jaelyn, who turned 6 yesterday. The whole roomful of people joined us on that one. It was quite a performance, especially when you keep in mind we've been in school just 50 days.
I was very proud of them. I cannot tell you how many people came up to me after our performance to compliment the children who performed on stage—I lost count—but a great many did.
P.S. If anyone would like to email me a photo of the event, I would be delighted to post it up here.
