First of all, we sent (and wrote down) some "Get Well" wishes to the students not here today....
We sounded out words in the pocket chart at the top end of the day.
Can your child read these words?
It helps to sing the sounds all in one note.
Here's a "first grade" word to try.
Most of the students know that when there is an "e" at the end of a word it will make the vowel ahead of it say its name.
That's happening in this word too. And the "s" is saying the /z/ sound.
Here's another "first grade" word.
If these words proved hard, this image should make things easier.
Kayla Sue's bike. Yes, we got out on our bikes today. Yeah!!
You could tell by the litter we picked up off the playground that Halloween was not too long ago.
Tomorrow morning we will decorate the surfboard we are making for the Walk-a-Thon.
Another good day at school.
