Emily brought a read-aloud story to share with her class, Jessie Bear, What Will You Wear?
It is beautifully illustrated and the text of the story rhymes and has a rhythm that just makes you want to sing the words out loud. So that's what I did. A lovely tale.

She also brought a healthy and delicious snack. She brought raw veggies: cauliflower, carrots and celery which proved quite popular with the class. Most of the kids ate some and came back for more. She also brought sandwiches. Several of the kinders expressed some doubt about eating a sandwich made with almond butter and jelly, mostly, I guess, because they never tried almond butter before today. Apparently they liked how almond butter sandwiches tasted; the sandwiches disappeared quite quickly.
Some of the music we heard today came from this North American flute which they had not seen before.
The PE teacher told me that she thought this was the best kindergarten class she's ever seen—quite a compliment, as she's seen quite a few, like me.
At the end of the day today Rocco took a microphone around the rug. He got them all! Yeah Rocco! He joins Nathan, Kade, and Tanner as one of the select few. What I admire about Rocco is that he gave himself another go at this after falling a bit short on his first attempt. Success is partly a matter of getting back up on your feet each time you stumble. Kindergarten is a good place to put that life lesson to work for you.
The opportunity to be the first girl to achieve this milestone awaits the willing and those daring to go for it! Caleb is on deck for Monday and Phoenix is in the dugout for Tuesday.
