I had a wonderful spring vacation exploring "Bulldawg" territory (University of Georgia, Athens) with my wife and son, Ted. He's been accepted to their Ph. D. program in the School of Education.
Then, yesterday, I had the pleasure of interviewing the people who have applied to the Superintendency of our school. It's a great group of candidates, and I look forward to working with whoever is the successful candidate. Mrs. Gronlund and Mrs. Crum stood in for me and Mrs. Everson respectively. The letter from Mrs. Gronlund was that all went well in our absence. That's exactly what I want to hear.
It was great to come back to school today. Many students arrived at school with a tissue paper flowers which, together, filled several vases. Others arrived with actual bouquets.
Elena brought the Foot Book by Dr. Seuss and read it aloud to the class. Gavin held the mic for her.
In KIDS club Pedro showed me that he has almost learned the Soundabet. When he masters it, we'll have everyone in the whole class accounted for early in May. That's just great! When the whole class is up to speed on the Soundabet it's good for all of us. We will celebrate the day that Pedro gets his King's card on the wall.
Enjoy the fine day.
