Today was a day when rule #2 was in good effect: Be Happy!
He brought in a book for me to read, Put Me in the Zoo by Robert Lopshire. This is part of the "Bright and Early Books for Beginning Readers—a series of books for beginning readers—wonderful books because they are engaging stories and yet are readable by beginning readers who have the Soundabet under their belts. Several of the students in my classroom could read these books with just a little bit of help from an elder.
Mrs. Everson was out today so they called in Mrs. Gronlund as her substitute. At the end of the day Mrs. Gronlund shared her Beagle/Fox Terrier puppy named Baylee.
|Baylee, the dog. When we sang her "I Wanna Be a Dog" she was THERE.|
In KIDS club we worked on math mostly. Ivan and Pedro got to pour water into the solid shapes we introduced last week and get some hands on exploration of which shape can hold the most water. Mostly, they had fun.
Cleaning up is going so well that we were able to add some items of interest in the Dwarf House. Check out that ukulele! (Yes, Mildred, it has four strings!)
We are enjoying **splendid** springlike weather along the eastern edge of the Pacific Ocean at Latitude 38° North.
