The Value of Play--Dale Dougherty

One of my fellow Sebastopol buds is Dale Dougherty whom I've known for some years now.

He recently gave a talk on making stuff for TED.

The connection to kindergarten will become clear if you have time to watch it all the way to the end, but basically he's talking about the value of playing and tinkering with things.

Any kindergarten that has done away with play time and recess has done away with its most important part. They've literally thrown the baby out with the bathwater.
