New Green Mat

The new green mat, with room for our 29th student, Trisha, arrived and I installed it Friday.

Students will be able to self-select a place to sit on Monday and we'll see how it goes.

I painted a stripe on the playground to help the students line up far enough from the door so that it can be opened without danger of banging into their noses.

And, oh, looky here at the patterns we're seeing. Man, I'm impressed.

Last, but not least, I put the finishing touches on the vortex generator which will see service in kindergarten. Anyone got some smoke bombs they could donate?

I love it when I see pattens and the childrens work begin to evolve like that...when I saw it I said, "WHOA!" That is Geometry right there! If you have kaleidoscopes they are a great extention to inspire the children to make more patterns...just a thought. Nice Work..I can tell you have a pretty peaceful classroom by the way the children are engaging & interacting with the materials.

The kids in day care have been spending a lot of time coloring kaliedoscope patterns. Matthew and Shelby both are having a great time with their creations! I love the connection between daycare and classroom. Can't wait to hear how Shelby did on her sound-a-bet today!!!

Hi Corinne—

Shelby got it!! She's crossed the threshold and has inspired Tara and Breagan to soon follow suit. I cannot tell you how excited I am for Shelby. This kindergarten is really cookin'.

And yes, the daycare/kindergarten connection is fabulous. Cindy in the daycare does wonders. What a gift she is!
